King George’s Hall

The King George’s Hall is Blackburn’s premier concert and entertainment venue. Located in the heart of Blackburn town centre it is a Grade II listed building with magnificent Georgian style entrance.

The main concert hall has maximum capacity of 2000 (seated and standing). The seated capacity is 1807.

The venue hosts a varied programme of events and acts including rock and pop concerts, top comedians, snooker matches, and wrestling. Regular events include a monthly comedy show, soul nights. King George’s Hall also co-hosts the Annual Blackburn and Darwen Comedy Festival with Darwen Library Theatre.

Acts performing in recent years have included Frankie Boyle, Jimmy Carr, Jason Cook, John Bishop, Motorhead, Doves, and The Courteeners.

Blakey’s Café Bar offers pre-concert dinner and drinks. Drinks are also available in the Lancaster Bar and Windsor Foyer Bar.

The venue also offers extensive conference and meeting facilities. Several rooms and suites are available, all equipped with the latest audio-visual equipment.

The hall is also a popular wedding venue and can cater for parties from 30 to 1800 guests. Personalised room layouts, equipment hire, and use of kitchen facilities are offered.

King George’s Hall is located on Northgate in the town centre, within easy walking distance of the bus and train stations. Visitors arriving by car can park nearby in the multi-storey car park on Feilden Street. It offers spaces for over 500 vehicles and opening times are coordinated with events at the hall.

I saw Fame the Musical on the 12th and it really inspired me to get involved and I am now going to audition for a theatre school.
