Witton Country Park
Blackburn’s old manor house, Witton House, was demolished many years ago after being sold to Blackburn Council in the 1940’s. Fortunately, 480 acres of land included in the deal have been transformed into an impressive country park with picnic spots, nature trails, woodlands and farmland.
The visitor centre, once the estate’s stables, now houses a café, a collection of renovated horse-drawn carriages and a miniature zoo with mice, voles, rabbits and squirrels. The centre also hires special scooters for those with limited mobility.
