Blackpool Illuminations
Blackpool’s Illuminations attract millions of visitors to the town at a time when the tourist season in other British resorts has all but finished. From humble beginnings in 1879, with just 8 electric lamps, this annual event has expanded into a 2 month extravaganza, illuminating 6 miles of Blackpool’s seafront with thousands of lamps, fibre optics and lasers.
