Blackpool Trams

Electric trams have been operating on Blackpool’s seafront since 1885 and until relatively recently was the UK’s only surviving tram service. The line runs for approximately 12 miles from Squire Gates through Cleveleys and on to Fleetwood. Perhaps the best time to see them is during the Blackpool Illuminations, when they are decorated with lights.

I will always love Blackpool. I have good memories going on holidays as a child with my family and going across on the trams to Fleetwood for a day out and on the way back stopping off at Uncle Toms Cabin.

Some of the trams still in use date back to the 1930's.
