Vue Cinema Bury

The Vue Cinema at The Rock Bury is a modern multiplex cinema with 10 screens and just under 1700 seats.

The largest auditorium has a capacity of 370 while the smallest can accommodate 79. Screen 1 was the first supersized ‘VueExtreme’ screen to be built outside London.

At weekends and during school holidays it offers Kids AM films at pocket money prices. Teenagers get 20 percent off tickets at all times and can benefit from even further reductions at special Teen Screen showings. On Wednesdays Orange mobile customers can buy two tickets for the price of one.

Facilities include a licensed bar and concession stand. There are also plenty of places to eat and drink around The Rock. Frankie & Benny’s, Flaming Dragon, Pizza Express, and Nando’s are all here.

In addition to regular showings, this cinema also shows special events including live concerts and sporting events. For details of all film listings and movie times visit the official website.

The cinema is located at The Rock, at the northern end of Bury town centre. It is situated on the upper level of the centre, next to AMF Bowling.

The centre’s multi-storey car park is just a short walk from the cinema and offers free parking after 6 pm. Visitors travelling by car should leave the M66 at Junction 2 and follow the A58 to Bury town centre.

Bury Interchange is also nearby. The Metrolink offers frequent services to Manchester and beyond. The bus station is also here.

The cinema opened in July 2010, replacing the old Vue cinema at Park 66 in Pilsworth.

I completely agree follow Hannah's comment as the Vue Cinema at Park 66 will be truly missed.

You are lying except Hannah. Vue is the best and it's a lovely experience for the family.

I visited the Vue Cinema wed 11 march 18:30, screen 9. As I sat up my pants and coat was covered in chewing gum, as it was all over the seat. The supervisor was not helpful whatsoever! In fact useless and just wanted to pass the blame. Obviously the cleaners don't clean the seats. So when you sit down, check your seat.

The message below is not true. You do not have to purchase tickets from a machine. In fact you can purchase tickets from the confectionery stand. Also they do not search your bags for sweets but cameras because people were taking pictures during the movie (copyright issues). They do not stop you taking drinks and food in even if they see it in your bags. They have never stopped me
taking in drinks. I have been going for years and the staff are very pleasant and they have air conditioning on cause there are so many people and it would have been cold because it's winter.

I visited Vue Cinema on Sunday 23 November 2008 and it was an experience that I will not repeat. Tickets had to be purchased at a machine (too bad if you had no debit or credit card). Even though I did not have a handbag with me I was asked rudely if I did not have one, although since I did not even have a jacket on, it would have been obvious to anybody that I did not have one. I also think that asking to look in people's handbags to see if they have brought in sweets etc is an invasion of privacy - you are not asked to do this if you go to the theatre.
The cinemas itself was cold and overall it was a very unpleasant experience - as I say one I shall not repeat.
