Gilsland Spa Hotel
The Gilsland Spa Hotel lies just north of the village of Gilsland and is famous for the sulphur and chalybeate springs that lie in its grounds. The building dates back to the 18th century and was purchased by the Cooperative Group in 1902 for use as a convalescent home for its members.
The hotel has over 90 rooms, all with en-suite facilities, TV, hospitality tray, central heating, and double glazing. Many of the rooms have views of the hotels extensive grounds.
Facilities include a public bar offering lunch and evening meals, bowling and putting greens, a croquet lawn, lift to all floors, and car park.
Nearby attractions include Hadrian’s Wall, Birdoswald Roman Fort, and Talkin Tarn.
