River Forge Bed and Breakfast

Dating back to the early 1600’s the River Forge is a former blacksmith’s forge offering unique bed and breakfast accommodation. Two self-contained suites are available, each with a separate entrance, en-suite bathroom, TV, and tea/coffee making facilities.

Situated just south of Carlisle, and just a short distance from Junction 42 of the M6 motorway, it makes a good base for visitors to the city, Hadrian’s Wall, Gretna Green, and Carlisle Racecourse.

We wanted to stay here after reading some positive reviews and were not disappointed It was unbelievable value for money and you had tons of space. It was an excellent base for places in Scotland and the northern lakes, and the owners were extremely friendly and helpful. We hope to come back soon.

We couldn't believe how good this place was. It was very easy to get to from the motorway and you receive a very warm welcome when you arrive. The room/s had all mod cons including a fridge and microwave and the breakfast was absolutely massive. We would definitely come back.
