Francs 14 Cuppin Street [View Map] French Chester’s longest established French bistro. Fantastic interior with beamed ceiling, leather armchairs and sofas, and antique mirrors. Offers a la carte and reasonably-priced fixed menus.
Groves Bistro and Bar, The Souters Lane [View Map] Bistro Fantastic location on the banks of the River Dee and just 2 minutes from Grosvenor Park. Good range of reasonably priced dishes, beers and wines. Beer garden. DJ’s, salsa nights, jazz etc. at weekends.
La Tasca 6 – 12 Cuppin Street [View Map] Spanish Good selection of tapas dishes, paella, Spanish wines and beers. Lively atmosphere and great décor.
Moules a Go-Go 39 – 41 Watergate Row [View Map] Belgian Bright, contemporary restaurant offering a range of mussel dishes, plus steaks, fish and lobster, and chicken. Also offers a ‘beat-the-clock menu’ Monday to Friday (6 pm – 7 pm), e.g. arrive at 6 pm and pay £6 for 2 courses.
Olive Tree Restaurant Green Bough Hotel [View Map] British Restaurant at the award-winning Green Bough Hotel. Open to hotel guests and non-residents. Offers a modern British table d'hôte menu that changes daily. Private dining room available.
Pastarazzi 29 Grosvenor Street [View Map] European One of Chester’s most popular restaurants. Housed in a magnificent gothic, Grade II listed building close to the racecourse. Menu features Italian/European dishes and makes good use of local produce.
