De Vere St David’s Park Hotel

The 4-star De Vere St David’s Park Hotel is situated close to the Welsh town of Ewloe, about 8 miles from the centre of Chester.

This modern hotel offers 147 en-suite bedrooms. All have bath, shower, direct dial telephone, hairdryer, tea/coffee making facilities, trouser press, iron and ironing board and Playstation as standard.

The room was excellent but the food terrible. It was tasteless with no trimmings, poor service, no variety, and overpriced wine. We had to stand in line for main meal and the plates were cold.

We were very happy with this place as it suited our needs to be handy for both Chester and that part of Wales. The price was very competitive compared to some we looked at and we couldn't really find fault with either the room or the staff.

We were happy with our time here because we got a very good rate. The quality of the room and the accompanying customer service were quite good. Bit disappointed though that the pool was out of action. Nevertheless we would stay here again.

The hotel is a bit tired in places and needs a bit of TLC, although it did have everything we required. The staff who dealt with us were all really nice and for the price we paid we don't really have any major complaints.

Handy location for Chester and the Wales. We were given a large family room which we were happy with and the staff made a fuss over our little boy which was lovely. We also got a pretty good bargain price wise.

4 star and an AA rosette. It didn't meet either of these standards. Used the hotel as a base for Chester Zoo when couldn't find anywhere else. The room was shabby, food terrible, wine overpriced supermarket standard, crockery and glasses unclean. Would never stay there again.

The hotel and restaurant were excellent. There's not much to do in the surrounding area so it's best used as a base for visiting Chester (15 - 20 minutes in a car).
