Travelodge Chester Northop Hall

This Travelodge hotel is located off the A55 near the village of Mold in Flintshire, Wales, but is only 11 miles drive from the centre of Chester.

It offers cheap rooms with basic facilities and no frills, free car parking, and wireless internet access. Guests can dine at the Little Chef restaurant next to the hotel.

When you actually manage to find it, hidden in a dip off the EASTBOUND A55, you're actually glad of the room and the rest! BUT the whole place is rather tatty and had a damp/musty odour to it - IN JUNE! Rooms were OK - but very basic. Some lights not working - and ALL THE THE MAIN GROUND FLOOR FIRE DOORS were wedged open when the chamber maid was servicing the rooms in the morning! Very poor and narrow road entrance from the A55 which also serves a Little Chef! Good for the nature lover though, as there are rabbits and foxes in abundance to the rear of the building morning and evening! Otherwise, GIVE IT A MISS!!

Good little place from which to explore both Wales and Chester just over the border. It looks a little tired in places, but the room was comfortable and clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. There's a nice little pub in the village that serves excellent food and beer. We were quite happy here. We had everything we needed.

I guess this place is past its best, but it's still perfectly adequate for a quick stopover and of course the price is unbeatable if you book in advance. The location is lovely and it's only a few miles from Chester even though it's in Wales. We were told to take all our valuables out of the car, which we did, and we didn't have any problems.
