Willington Hall

Willington Hall is a small hotel housed in a Victorian country home. It lies in 17 acres of gardens and parkland, and offers 10 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, TV, hairdryer, trouser press and tea/coffee making facilities.

The Gainsborough Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and makes full use of local produce. Both prix fixe and a la carte menus are offered.

The hotel is situated between the Cheshire villages of Kelsall and Tarporley, around 9 miles by car to the city of Chester.

I visited this hotel for dinner just before Christmas. It was so disappointing, the service was very poor and slow with mistakes made on the order by the kitchen, resulting in me finishing my main course before my partners meal had even been brought to the table.
And to top it all I was severely ill during the night which I can only put down to the food I ate.
I spoke to the owner of the hotel about my complaint and she was not interested in the slightest. She stated that there was a bug going around and that I had caught it.
