Nantwich

Nantwich is an attractive market town on the banks of the River Weaver in south Cheshire, just 4 miles from Crewe. There’s been a settlement here since Roman times when salt was mined in the area for the garrisons at Chester and Stoke.

In 1583 the town was almost completely destroyed by fire, but was quickly rebuilt using wood from Delamere Forest. Nowadays, with a wealth of timber-framed buildings, many liken Nantwich to a pint-sized Chester.

Hotels

Nantwich is a small relatively small town and only offers a few hotels. Hotels in the centre include the Crown Hotel. Rookery Hall, just 3 miles north, offers great leisure facilities.

Crewe is just a short drive from Nantwich and offers more accommodation choices, including two Travelodge budget hotels.
