Travelodge Kendal

The Travelodge Kendal offers a cheap place to stay for visitors wishing to explore the Lake District. Situated on the A591 at Prizet its handy location gives easy access to Kendal, Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside.

The hotel opened in 2006 and unlike most modern Travelodges has been built using locally sourced natural stone. It offers 43 bedrooms, each with king-sized bed, TV, and hospitality tray. Other facilities offered include ample free car parking and wireless internet access (fee applies).

Other than a petrol station next door, there is little in the immediate vicinity, so a car really is a necessity here.

You win all round with this Travelodge. Clean, comfortable, cheap, well situated. Recommended.

We were given a spacious room, which was also very clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and accommodating and as usual with Travelodge the price was unbeatable. Ok, it didn't have the charm of some of the places we later stayed at in the Lake District, but it cost a fraction of the price. You really need a car to stay here though. We would stay here again.

Definitely one of the better Travelodges and as a jumping off point for the Lake District absolutely ideal. I know there are sometimes cleanliness issues in some of these lodges, but ours was spotless and the staff could not have been more helpful. No complaints.
