Bampton
Bampton is a small village in Cumbria's Lowther Valley, just north of Haweswater and around 4 miles east of Ullswater. The village was once well known for Bampton Grammar School, an esteemed educational establishment now closed.
Today it attracts fans of the cult film Withnail and I; the telephone box where Withnail calls his agent is situated in the village.
