I've been to the Black Bull a few times now, and it's by far the best place to eat/relax in the lake district. Accommodation is nice and comfortable too.

We have just done the Cumbria Way and our first stop was the Black Bull in Coniston. The Blue Bird bitter is just the best ever pint and very welcome after walking 16 miles. Food and accommodation are also 1st class and already looking forward to going back for another visit

There's nothing better than a good pint of Bluebird after a walk up the Old Man. This is the best place to get it.

Beer was excellent (as expected) but the food was mediocre. The outdoor patio is a nice spot to relax.
