Bridge House

Ambleside's tiny Bridge House is one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District. Built over Stock Ghyll it now houses a National Trust information centre.

It's hard to believe that a family of 8 once lived here. It is said that it was built over the river so the owner would avoid paying any tax.
