The Britannia Inn

The Britannia Inn is a popular pub and inn situated in the centre of Elterwater, a charming country hamlet around 4 miles west of Ambleside. This 400-year old inn overlooks the village green and offers 9 refurbished twin and double rooms. All are en-suite and offer tea and coffee making facilities, TV, telephone and hairdryers.

The inn boasts 2 bars with plenty of character, serving a good selection of real ales. Freshly cooked meals that make good use of local produce are also offered.

Excellent pub especially in the summer when you can have a nice pint and sit on the village green. They've got some good beers on tap (Jennings, Coniston Bluebird etc.).
