Hydro Hotel

Built in the late 19th century the Hydro Hotel is one of the closest hotels to Bowness town centre.

The family-owned Lake District hotel has 78 rooms. All are non-smoking and have an en-suite bathroom, TV, trouser press, hairdryer, and tea/coffee making facilities. Many have views of Windermere.

The hotel’s Hydro Spa features a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, and small gym. Other facilities include a bar, restaurant, numerous meeting and conference rooms, and games room.

It’s just a couple of hundred yards walk to Bowness town centre. The lake and the landing piers are approximately ½ mile from the hotel.

We stayed here in room 37 for 4 nights end of April 2010. The room was very comfortable, clean and good facilities. Food was most excellent, staff very friendly and helpful. On site swimming pool was well looked after and very welcome. The hotel is very close to the shops in Bowness, few moments walk, but just far enough away for noise not to be a problem. Entertainment was good. Highly recommended, wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
