Lakes Lodge offers contemporary bed and breakfast accommodation in the centre of Ambleside. All 12 rooms are en-suite and come with DVD players. Buffet breakfast with continental breads, cereals, fruit, smoked fish, Cumberland sausages and ham is included in the daily rate.

Guests are welcome to use the indoor pool and leisure facilities at its sister property, the Regent Hotel.

This area is unbeatable in my opinion with everything on your doorstep. We got a terrific room complete with four-poster and the people could not have been more friendly. The buffet breakfast is superb and highly recommended.

This is an excellent place to stay and won't break the bank either. The location is superb and the room was clean and spacious and even had a DVD player for a rainy day. Also, you can use the leisure facilities at their sister hotel nearby - something we took full advantage of.

Breakfast was good, but a little rushed. Room was ok but nothing special.
