Linthwaite House Hotel

Set in 14 acres of woods and gardens, the Linthwaite House Hotel enjoys a superb location overlooking Windermere. In 2006 the hotel appeared in the Condé Nast Traveller Gold List for Best Location.

The hotel has 27 rooms, all of which are en-suite, and include satellite TVs, CD players, hairdryers, iron and ironing boards and tea/coffee making facilities.

The restaurant at Linthwaite House serves modern British food and holds 2 AA rosettes. A 4-course table d’hôte menu is offered in the evening.

The hotel has its own trout-filled tarn and is also a member of the Windermere and Ambleside Angling Association. Guests are allowed free access to their waters in the Lake District.

This is a fantastic hotel with spectacular views and beautiful gardens. The room was spacious and very tastefully decorated and the accompanying service was second to none. They even have their own tarn where you can do a spot of fishing. It is a bit of a treat, but an unforgetable experience.

This must be one of the most gorgeous locations in the Lake District. The views are absolutely stunning. On top of that, the food is of a very high quality and the service is first class. It's not the cheapest place in the Lakes, but you would be hard pressed to beat it on quality.
