Low Wood Hotel

The Low Wood Hotel is a 4 star, 110-room hotel with leisure club and watersports centre on the shores of Windermere.

The Low Wood Leisure Club includes a 50 ft pool, large spa, gym with personal trainers, dance studio, squash court, sauna and steam room. The hotel also has a hair and beauty salon that offers a full range of treatments.

The watersports centre offers instruction in waterskiing, sailing, canoeing and kayaking. Speedboats can also be hired.

The Windermere Restaurant offers an English menu while Café del Lago offers a Mediterranean experience.

Just got back from lovely 2 days. Staff very friendly and the hotel well worth its 4 stars. Catered well for small children.

This is a great spot with terrific views and you are within walking distance of Ambleside. The food and service seemed very good, although we only ate there once. A couple of people had their pets with them which is good to know for a future visit as we wanted to take ours.

A difficult place to beat if you like your water sports, but the hotel is also very nice in its own right. We couldn't fault the staff either who catered admirably for our every whim. It was a bit noisy for a while one night, but that's about the only negative.

This is a good place to stay with every imaginable amenity on site. We were very pleased to be welcomed with our little dog as one place had turned us away. The king sized heated water bed was a memorable touch and the staff were helpful and efficient.

Great leisure facilities in a perfect location to explore the surrounding area. The water sports centre also offers instruction on water based activities. The room was very comfortable, but a little pricey for what you got.

The leisure club facilities are brilliant. I go there when we let a cottage nearby and it is always clean and everyone is friendly. The pool and sauna have to be my favourites. Highly recommended.

The hotel opened a 40-berth marina at the end of 2006 and also refurbished much of ground floor.
