This elegant Georgian mansion is set in Mediterranean-style gardens and overlooks Windermere.

The Newby Bridge hotel has 40 individually styled bedrooms, all of which are en-suite and offer satellite TVs, radios, direct dial telephones and hairdryers. Many offer four poster beds and Jacuzzis.

Much of the fruit, vegetables and herbs used hotel’s restaurant comes from its own organic garden.

Leisure facilities include a heated indoor pool, steam room, spa pool and gym. Residents can fish from the hotel’s private mooring.

This was a nice place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist centres, but still well located. The leisure facilities were very good and they also allow pets which we would definitely take advantage of on a future visit. You can keep in touch with Wi-Fi, but it's not that great in the room. You also need to mind your head as there are some very low beams.

Great spot. Loved the swimming pool and gym. Delicious organic food, which they grow a lot of themselves according to the chef. Friendly staff, who were just as good at keeping the guests happy. No complaints!

Beautiful location on the lake with everything you could possibly want; free WiFi, jacuzzis, four poster beds! Excellent food and very friendly and attentive staff.
