Queen’s Head Hotel

The timber-framed Queen’s Head Hotel dates back to the 16th century and is situated at the heart of the traffic-free village of Hawkshead.

All rooms have been renovated and offer a private bathroom, TV, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer and a direct dial telephone. Some have four-poster beds.

The pub downstairs has a good reputation for quality home-cooked British food.

ANNE MCVEIGH
I WAS REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD IN THIS PUB. IT LOOKED SO COSY AND WELCOMING,LOG FIRE, THE STAFF ALL PRISTINE IN THEIR LONG WHITE APRONS ETC. HOWEVER, THE FOOD WAS REALLY AVERAGE EVEN FOR A PUB, YET THE PRICES WERE WAY INTO THE RESTAURANT CATEGORY. FINAL NAIL IN THE COFFIN WAS THE "PAVLOVA" AT £5.25 WHICH CONSISTED OF A FEW DEFROSTED BERRY FRUITS AND A SAINSBURYS MERINGUE NEST. WE COULD NOT BELIEVE IT !!
