This must be one of the most beautiful places to stay in the Lake District and yet extremely convenient being right in the heart of Grasmere. The room was very comfortable and well appointed and the service was also excellent. One tiny complaint is we thought the evening meal could've offered bigger portions.

Great building and fantastic location, but I thought it was a little on the expensive side for what it was. Other than that, no complaints really. The gardens were lovely and the setting was very tranquil yet only a very short walk from Grasmere. Good breakfast.

Hotel had plenty of plus points: good parking, clean, excellent food (particulary breakfast), close to Grasmere. Would recommend.
