Rothay Manor Hotel & Restaurant
This Regency style house is set in its own grounds just south of Ambleside. Originally built in 1825 as the private home of a wealthy Liverpool merchant, Rothay Manor has been run as a hotel by the Nixon family for the past 4 decades.
Rothay Manor offers 19 bedrooms and suites that have been individually designed and furnished. All rooms come with en-suite bathroom, TV, radio, direct dial telephone and tea/coffee making facilities.
The restaurant serves British cuisine and is renowned for its afternoon teas. It was recently named as one of the 50 Best Places for Afternoon Tea in the World by the Guardian newspaper.
Families and disabled visitors are welcome. Rothay Manor also runs special interest holidays (bridge, walking, antiques etc.) throughout the year.
