Macdonald Swan Hotel
The Macdonald Swan is a renovated 18th century coaching inn that is referred to in Wordsworth’s poem The Waggoner (‘Who does not know the famous Swan?’) . It is located on the northern edge of the village of Grasmere.
All 38 rooms have full en-suite facilities and include TV, radio, direct dial telephone, trouser press, iron and ironing board, tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryer.
The Waggoner’s Restaurant enjoys a good reputation and offers traditional and contemporary English cuisine, including Lakeland specialities.
