The Waterhead Hotel
The grey slate exterior of the Waterhead Hotel gives little indication of the sophistication that lies within. Following a £3 million renovation, the interior of Ambleside’s Waterhead Hotel is probably the most stylish and contemporary of all the hotels in the Lake District.
Rooms come with massive wall-mounted plasma TVs, DVD players, slate and marble en-suite bathrooms with under floor heating, tea and coffee making facilities, and hairdryers.
The hotel overlooks Windermere and is close to the Waterhead piers where the ferries to Bowness depart. The town of Ambleside is about 10 minutes walk from the property.
The Bay restaurant overlooks the lake and serves contemporary European cuisine. Guests are welcome to use the extensive leisure facilities at the Waterhead’s sister hotel, Low Wood.
