The Wordsworth Hotel and Spa

Despite being in the centre of Grasmere village, the Wordsworth Hotel boasts 2 acres of landscaped grounds. It’s named after the poet William Wordsworth, buried in churchyard of St Oswald’s next to the hotel. His grave is one of the Lake District’s most popular places of pilgrimage.

It was a dream come true staying here as we had always wanted to stay in Wordsworth country. The hotel was lovely and the staff were extremely helpful. You have everything at your fingertips and the scenery is absolutely stunning.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here as you got the best of both worlds - a central location, but set in lovely grounds. The hotel could do with a lick of paint in places, but our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we required.

We loved it here. Grasmere is a gorgeous little village and the hotel and its grounds were magnificent and all in a very central location. I also appreciated being able to keep on top of things with the wireless internet connection.

Great hotel and location in Wordsworth country who is buried in the cemetery next door. The staff were exceptionally helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Tiny drawback, food a little bit on the expensive side.
