Penny Street Bridge

Overlooking the Lancaster Canal, the Penny Street Bridge hotel was opened in 2007 by Blackburn brewery Daniel Thwaites. Formerly the Farmers Arms, it offers a contemporary bar and restaurant, and 28-bedroom hotel.

All rooms boast a luxury en-suite bathroom, modern furnishings, internet connection, and flat screen TV.

The hotel is situated at the southern end of Lancaster city centre, close to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

The room could have been a bit bigger, but it was warm, quiet, clean and comfortable and met all our requirements. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Parking can be a bit of a problem.

Nicely furnished room with flat screen TV and internet access. We were also able to check in a bit early which I thought was very nice when you've been on the go for a few hours. Would recommend.

My husband & l stayed in the Penny Street Bridge hotel for 1 night in June 2008. The hotel looked clean & modern, the receptionist was very helpful, even found us a parking space next door to the hotel (the hotel only appears to have 6 spaces). Our room was small but perfectly formed, clean contemporary modern decor & a fancy shower! We had an evening meal at the hotel & the food was great & reasonably priced, we finished off with drinks in the courtyard. A continental breakfast was included in the room price but we paid an extra £5 each & had a full English which again was great. All in all a lovely relaxing stay.
