This 17th century inn has recently been refurbished and now offers 15 rooms, each with modern furnishings, an en-suite bathroom, wireless internet access, hairdryer, and tea/coffee making facilities.

The ground floor is home to one of Lancaster’s most popular pubs. Offering a good selection of real ales and wines, it has won numerous awards including CAMRA Regional Pub of the Year.

The Sun Hotel is situated in the heart of Lancaster city centre. Lancaster Castle, the train station and the Vue Cinema are all within easy walking distance.

If you don't want to stay in a faceless hotel I would certainly recommend this place. I think it was refurbished recently, but I was told it hadn't lost any of its character or friendliness. That was borne out during my stay where the staff and the customers were far friendlier than you would get in your average hotel. Definitely worth a visit.

This was a great find right in the heart of Lancaster. The Inn has got tons of charm and my room was spotlessly clean and had everything I needed, even Wi-Fi. You are never short of anyone to talk to as there's a very friendly bar downstairs with a superb choice of beers that would loosen anyone's tongue.

Great place to eat and drink. Really friendly, helpful and courteous staff. The room was a little on the small side, but that didn't matter that much really as we were out all the time.
