I have never had any problems parking at Aintree Retail Park! Even on a Saturday when it is really busy I have still always found a place to park straight away. As for the parking tickets, you deserve one if you don't park correctly. There have been a few occasions when I haven't been able to get into a parking space I have wanted to because the car next to it is over the white line. If you can't get into a parking space (which at Aintree are really spacious may I add) then you shouldn't be driving!

The Martin Lewis website has really useful information on private car park tickets. Just type in 'parking tickets' in the search box on the website.

I am not sure about these tickets being illegal but private car parking firms often won't bother to chase you up if you do not pay because it is not worth their while taking you to court as it is more expensive than the cost of the ticket.

GWB maybe if you accepted people make mistakes you wouldn't have such a BIG chip on your shoulder. Get over it mate. At least you're alive and kicking! Enjoy life!

Roy may well laugh. I am disabled, parked correctly, displayed the required 'badge' etc and still got a ticket because his compatriots didn't take the trouble to check correctly.
Trying to explain is like trying to talk to the man in the moon. League tables spring to mind. When you feel like another laugh Roy, please swap disability with me, then we can all have a laugh! Just out of interest, I haven't been to Aintree for months, so those traders are losing out, I go elsewhere now!
Keep on laughing Roy, I suppose in your job you need to, you probably have few friends, and mentioning your 'job' must be real conversation killer.

This makes me laugh. Maybe if some of you thought about others before parking where you clearly should not, you would not get the parking charge notifications. I have been a warden with various parking management companies for a few years now, and the majority of people could not care less about others when they park there cars.
People do not seem to be able to walk for an extra 20 yards and leave the disabled bays for people who need them. Shame on you all.

GWB - Your comment was removed because you named people individually and gave their phone numbers out. You have every right to your opinion, but I think its not right that you disclosed such personal information, especially as they were probably not be aware of the post and and not able to present their side of the story.

Some few weeks ago, I submitted a 'review' here, which has since 'disappeared.'
Once again mega complaints about parking, you get more satisfaction out of a brick wall trying to right - wrongs!
I do not use this retail park any more but go elsewhere. Over the last couple of years, I've spent an awful lot of money at Aintree, but no more.
Other businesses are well pleased that the parking operatives are upsetting members of the public, because they're benefiting from it quite nicely, thank you very much! My new suppliers welcomed me with open arms.
See ya Aintree!

I completely agree about the parking! What a joke!!!

I have heard that a local resident who is a high ranking police officer used the retail car park in Aintree and got booked. He has said that no one should pay the fine as it may be illegal to fine people in this way! He said even if the bailiff turns up do not pay it. You would assume that being a police officer he checked this! It is worth seeking legal advice if booked.

A note to you customers out there. Be exceptionally careful when you visit the Retail Park. The car park is operated by a company called UKCPS Ltd. They will issue you with a ticket for 100 pounds, if they feel you have parked incorrectly, as follows :-
1. Without a valid permit or authority
2. Out of a marked bay
3. On a yellow box section
4. Beyond a stipulated time limit
5. In a disabled bay without a badge
I visited the park recently and received a ticket. I have since had complaints from numerous people all saying the same. It seems the over zealous parking attendants are giving tickets out, mainly to people who are having to park on/or just outside the line because the car beside them has parked slightly over to the left or right. Come on all you people out there join me and let me know your views, or better still don't give the park your business and the money won't roll into UKCPS Ltd.

I third it. Drivers coming out of any of the side parking areas onto the main path towards that roundabout never look to see if anyone is letting them in. They just pull out in front of people, and the cars behind them follow without even looking. It's that very dangerous concept of "don't make eye contact". It's lucky that some of us pay attention and see what they are doing and frustratingly have to let them get away with it in order to avoid an accident.

I totally agree with A. Grayson's observation.

I have used this retail park for a good many years. A problem I continually encounter is at the roundabout by B+Q. I have seen the aftermath of accidents there and I have had narrow escapes myself the latest one being this very morning (23/12/09) as I was exiting the car park at B+Q at the above roundabout. The problem seems to be that road users ignore the normal rules of roundabouts when encountering this particular one e.g traffic approaching the roundabout from the Harveys Furniture direction continually drive across the roundabout without giving preference to their "right" this behaviour occurs from other directions but this particular direction is by far the worst. I would like to suggest that luminous prominent signs are erected at the four approaches to the island to remind drivers to give way to the right. Many thanks.
