We've got to move forward if we want the success we had in 80s. We need a better ground with better facilities to attract more support.

Everton fans have given their backing to the club’s proposal to move their stadium to Kirkby. On Friday (24 August 2007) the club announced that 59% of fans voted in favour of the plans.
The ballot was run by the Electoral Reform Service and was open to season ticket holders, shareholders and fan club members, with just under 26 thousand votes received. It is thought that this is the first time that a major European football club has handed over such a significant decision to its supporters.

Everton FC is to conduct a fan’s ballot to help decide whether the club relocates to a new stadium in Kirkby. The proposed stadium will be built on land donated by Knowsley Council with construction costs of £50 million being met by Tesco, who plan to open a store at the ground.
