The Liner at Liverpool

Liverpool’s Liner Hotel plays homage to Liverpool’s maritime history and is decorated in the style of early 20th century liner. 152 en-suite ‘cabins’ are spread over 3 ‘decks’, each offering satellite TV, wireless internet access, direct dial telephone, radio, hairdryer, iron and board and hospitality tray.

Numerous nautically-themed bars and restaurants are available including the Pacific Lounge and Cocktail Bar, Seven Seas Restaurant and the Castaway Bar.

Don’t expect ocean views though, the Liner is located in Liverpool city centre, right next to Lime Street train station and close to the Walker Art Gallery, Empire Theatre, Carling Academy and Odeon Cinema.

I stayed here to check it out as I want to surprise my Dad who is an old merchant seaman. Absolutely brilliant and just what I was looking for. No water in sight of course, but the location is great and the staff, sorry crew, couldn't do enough for you.

Loved it! You stay in a cabin not a room. You are on a deck not a floor and the crew run the ship. Very imaginative and great service as well. The breakfast was also excellent and the location unbeatable.

Very original and well worth the money.

We arrived by train and were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel very near the station - so a few quid saved on a taxi right away. We were also allowed to check in early which was extremely convenient, and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We have already recommended the place to friends and will be coming back ourselves.

What a great place to stay, really original and not even that expensive. I don't normally write reviews, but for once I just felt like telling everyone what an enjoyable time I had here. I would be happy to come back any time. Well done!

Took my girlfriend here as a little treat and she loved it. Neither of us had ever stayed in a place like this and novelty value made everything go well. The room had everything we needed and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The price I paid was pretty good too.

Very easy to get to by either car or train. Certainly one of the most original places I've ever stayed with it's ocean theme. The staff were very polite and professional and the room was very clean and comfortable, but a bit on the warm side.
