Liverpool Shops & Shopping Centres

Liverpool One is a shiny new £1 billion mixed-used development in the heart of the city centre. It features more than 160 high street, including Debenhams and John Lewis, over 20 restaurants and bars, a multiplex cinema, hotels, apartments, and a park. Both Liverpool and Everton FC have stores here selling official club merchandise.

The Metquarter is a luxury shopping centre home to many boutiques selling designer clothes. Shops here include Allsaints, Aspecto, Armani Exchange, Diesel, DKNY Jeans, Firetrap, Fossil, Gieves & Hawkes, Hugo Boss, Jo Malone, Kurt Geiger, MAC, Timberland, TM Lewin, and Tommy Hilfiger. It’s situated on Whitechapel in central Liverpool, just north of Liverpool One.

Cavern Walks, on Mathew Street in the historic Cavern Quarter, is an arcade with many independent fashion shops. Cricket sells designer clothes for both men and women and is well known for its celebrity clientele. Other shops here are Boudette, Boudoir Boutique, Vivienne Westwood, and Weavers Door.

Bold Street is known for its eclectic mix of independent shops and is popular with students. Shops here include Forbidden Planet (comics), Zen (furniture), Matta’s (international foods), Resurrection (clothes), Shared Earth (handmade and fair trade gifts), Smiffys (fancy dress costumes), Ran (shoes), Drome (clothes), and News from Nowhere (alternative bookstore) . There are also high street names such as Waterstone’s and Holland & Barrett.

For Liverpool-inspired gifts and souvenirs visit the Albert Dock. Liverpool Pictures is an independent gallery offering paintings, prints, and photographs of modern day and old Liverpool. Subjects include popular attractions such as the Three Graces, Liverpool Cathedral, the Beatles, Albert Dock, the Palm House at Sefton Park, and Antony Gormley’s Another Place sculpture at Crosby Beach. Nautalica offers maritime products such as nautical instruments and boats, while the Fab4Store at the Beatles Story offers a massive range of Beatles merchandise and memorabilia.

The St Johns Shopping Centre is a large covered mall close to Lime Street train station. The biggest shops here are Wilkinson, Argos, and Poundland. Just south is the Clayton Square Shopping Centre, a smaller mall with around 30 shops including Ann Harvey, Clas Ohlson, Game, Maplin, Mothercare, and Wallis.

Retail parks in Liverpool include the New Mersey Shopping Park in Speke, the Edge Lane Retail Park in Wavertree, the Aintree Racecourse Retail and Business Park, and the Racecourse Retail Park.
