Capesthorne Hall
This stately home lies 5 miles west of Macclesfield and is the residence of the Bromley-Davenport family. It was built between 1719 and 1732, with substantial rebuilding after almost being completely destroyed by fire in 1861.
The Grade II listed building houses a wealth of fine art, sculptures, portraits and antique furniture collected by the family and their ancestors. It’s set within an extensive estate with a Georgian family chapel, lake, gardens, woodland, and restaurant.
Events
Capesthorne Hall hosts a regular programme of events, festivals, and concerts. Events scheduled for 2011 include Tony Hadley and Rick Astley in concert, Jools Holland, Classic Sports Car Sunday, the Heritage Opera, Firework Champions, Cheshire Classic Car & Motorcycle Show, plus wedding, antique and craft fairs.

Opening Times
Capesthorne Hall is open to the public between April and October on Sundays, Mondays, and bank holidays.
Opening times for the gardens and chapel are noon to 5 pm. The hall is open from 1.30 pm until 4 pm.
Admission Prices
On Sundays and bank holidays, combined tickets (giving admission to the hall, gardens, and chapel) cost £7 for adults, £6 for seniors, and £3.50 for children (5 – 18). Family tickets cost £16.
Tickets giving entrance to just the gardens and chapel are also available. A different pricing structure is in operation on Mondays. For further details visit the official website.
Location and Directions
Capesthorne Hall is located in just off the A34 in Siddington in East Cheshire, around 4 miles south of Alderley Edge and 5 miles west of Macclesfield.
To reach it by car leave the M6 motorway and Junction 17 (Congleton) and take the A534 and then A34 north. Visitors coming from Manchester can just follow the A34 south.
