Gawsworth Hall

Gawsworth Hall is one of Cheshire’s finest historic houses. Owned and lived in by the Richards family, it is open to the public during the summer months.

Parts of the timber-framed Grade I listed building date back to the 15th century. Notable features include its fine interior woodwork and magnificent carved staircase.

Events and Open Air Theatre

In the summer months concerts and plays are performed in an open air theatre, with the hall serving as a backdrop. Arrive early and enjoy a picnic and glass of wine on the lawn before the performance.

Performances scheduled for 2011 include Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Kate Rusby, Ken Dodd, The Christians, Elkie Brooks, Ray Mears, Jimmy Carr, Dave Spikey, Bellowhead, and Proms by Candlelight.

Other events include the Classic Car Rally, numerous craft fairs, and the Yuletide Flower Festival.
