Sweet Mandarin is an award-winning restaurant serving modern Chinese cuisine and exotic cocktails.

The restaurant is the brainchild of three successful sisters with a passion for food and a pedigree in the industry. Like the owners, the cuisine and setting here is young and vibrant. Home style cooking based on recipes passed down from generation to generation feature on the offerings like Lily Kwok's Chicken Curry and Mabel's Claypot Chicken.

Sweet Mandarin is situated in the heart of the up and coming Northern Quarter, in a prime location on the corner of Copperas Street and top end of High Street overlooking the Old Smithfield Fishmarket facade.

Group, families and couples and are all welcome.

We went to watch Russell Watson and came all the way from Chester. We found Sweet Mandarin and tried the happy hour menu. Their sizzling beef is delicious. What a brilliant night out and we will be back to the restaurant when we are going to watch a concert. Love the food and the service was very friendly. Will come back next time to try their specialities. Thanks for a wonderful time.

I'm a long long customer of the girl's grandmother Lil. I have just finished reading the book Sweet Mandarin and it was wonderful - brings back so many memories. I went to dine at Sweet Mandarin and the curry is exactly the same as the original version. Well done girls on opening Sweet Mandarin. Loved the book and will visit soon.

We held our wedding anniversary at Sweet Mandarin and ordered the banquet B. The food is top notch, delicious and plenty!
The service was very good and we were surprised by a free chocolate cake. What a wonderful evening - i have recommended the restaurant to many friends. Love the Northern quarter too - such a buzz about the place. Thanks again! We'll see you soon

I was recommended the restaurant Sweet Mandarin by my hotel Premier Apartments. The restaurant was beautiful, buzzing, friendly service and most importantly delicious food. I loved the salt and pepper spare ribs - the best I've ever tasted. I come to Manchester frequently on business and will be returning. Highly recommended. Great deals too.

We (my wife and I) had a lovely meal at the Sweet Mandarin. It was a romantic place and beautifully decorated. The food was fresh and delicious - I had the sweet and sour chicken, my wife had the claypot. They were very tasty and we will be returning again. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

We had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner at Sweet Mandarin and went for the banquet. This is the best Chinese I have tasted for a long time. The hot and sour soup was just tangy enough without being too sour. Our favourite was the aromatic Peking duck which was crispy and chewy. That hoisin sauce was spot on. The portions were huge and the service was friendly. Thank you for taking the stress out of Christmas cooking. We will be back and will definitely recommend you to all our friends.

I remember watching the programme of Sweet Mandarin on the telly. I must say these girls have done a fantastic job of creating this restaurant. I loved the salt and pepper chicken wings -just the best i've ever tasted. I wish them all the best and will be back for more.

My partner and I were recommended Sweet Mandarin by our friends. We came on a saturday night and it was packed. We started off with 2 cocktails Shanghai Alley and Tib Street. Beautiful tasty cocktails. We opted for the Set Meal which had 3 courses and it was a lot of food. The wine we chose to go with the meal was delightful too.. I will be recommending Sweet Mandarin to everyone i know. Food 10/10, and service 11/10

Just finished reading the book - was really amazing... what an amazing family. Went to eat at the restaurant and loved Lily Kwok's Chicken curry.... can't wait to come back again. food was wonderful, restaurant was beautiful and staff were very friendly.

We dined at Sweet Mandarin for my birthday. The food and service was excellent. This is the second time I've been and we wish there was a Sweet Mandarin in York. Also the free cake was a bonus. Love the restaurant and the food and service. I will be back soon.

Our party of 3 dined at the Sweet Mandarin this week and were very impressed. We started with Hot and Sticky OK Sauce Ribs (a very large portion), Japanese King Prawn Tempura, and Vietnamese Spring Rolls. For mains we had Malaysian Satay Sauce King Prawns, Singapore Vermicelli, and Firecracker King Prawns.
The food was excellent and the service was quick and friendly.
There was also plenty of free parking spaces close by. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody who likes Chinese and Oriental food.

I would highly recommend Sweet Mandarin. The food is excellent and the service is really friendly. It overlooks the old Smithfield fishmarket and is located on the original high street of Manchester - a bit of history to take in whilst dipping into a sumptuous Chinese banquet.
