Airport introduces security surcharge

Passengers flying from Liverpool John Lennon Airport will have to pay a £2 surcharge from the New Year. Airport owners Peel Holdings say the charge is to cover increased airport security costs and insurance premiums. Passengers will have to purchase tickets from machines inside the terminal building and then insert these into turnstiles before going through passport control.
