More acts added to Creamfields line up

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

The UK’s No.1 dance festival Creamfields have added yet more acts to their ever growing line up including one of the UK’s leading electro pop producers Grum, dynamic duo Zoo Brazil who have steadily carved out a reputation as one of the most respected production outfits in the UK, electro upstart David E Sugar who performs Live and Bang Bang Club. These latest acts join the likes of Tiësto, David Guetta, Deadmau5, Paul van Dyk, Calvin Harris, Leftfield, Swedish House Mafia and Sven Vath, for what is set to be THE festival of the Summer.

Creamfields also welcome back disco kings Hed Kandi who return to host the glamorous Hospitality Arena. Last year saw this exclusive ticket sell out in record time, and is set to repeat that success this year. The exclusive Tri Span structure returns along with some added perks, with Hospitality campers having access to their own exclusive VIP campsite which includes hot showers and those all important ‘proper’ toilets. Hospitality campers will also be able to take advantage of the complimentary new ‘Festibarrow’ service, for those laden down with rucksacks, just grab a ‘festibarrow’ and away you go! As well as the camping luxuries Hospitality ticket holders will have access to the exclusive Hed Kandi arena which includes a fully stocked bar, cocktail bar and plush indoor and outdoor seating areas!

Despite a jam packed salivating line up of talent to keep you occupied, the Cream team have also laid on an array of on site attractions. This year Strongbow returns in a new form as the Bowtime Bar. This all new structure is split into several areas including a live Stage featuring some of the UK’s best cutting edge artistes, an Outdoor Terrace for some dancing action, a garden Bar that has its own team of Masseuses providing free massages plus a chilled out ‘Garden’ to kick back in offering comfy seats and picnic benches. Another stage to pay a visit to is the JägerRock Truck which has been fancily converted into a strident orange mobile music arena and will be bursting out rock fuelled beat or for a more chilled out affair head to the Pimms Bus which returns in all its ‘white picket fence and deckchair’ glory. Creamfields has become renowned for delivering one of the widest range of culinary choices at a festival and this year is no different, the International Food Market returns to serve up everything from Mediterranean to Mexican grub and for those who like a bit of Italian pay a visit to the all new on site Pizza Express! After 2 days of arena hopping treat yourself to a pampering at the Vanity Van which will be offering everything from makeovers, spray tans, blow dry’s and more! We also welcome back the Fancy Dress Tent, which features rails upon rails of fancy dress costumes to ensure customers get into the full ‘festival’ spirit! If all the music gets a bit too much pop over to the onsite cinema which will be screening classic films throughout the evening, in addition throughout the day graffiti artistes will be showcasing their skills along with football freesylers and more. All brought to you as part of V’s Summer of Give campaign. Go to Vinspired.com to find out more”

Following the sell out success of last years festival which attracted a record breaking 60,000 people, the UK’s No.1 dance festival Creamfields returns to Daresbury in Cheshire. For full line up and tickets info go to: www.creamfields.com

Sankeys are now proud to announce key bookings through the year, as the venue revs up through the gears towards the summer, and their 15th anniversary celebrations. January is not yet over and already the likes of Steve Lawler and Pete Tong have stepped up, plugging into that Phazon sound system and roasting Manchester’s very soul. As we move through subsequent weeks, the club can now announce events with the likes of Sasha and Carl Cox, confirming the clubs role in bringing the best of the planet’s talent to Manchester.

Add to that residencies or regular gigs from club nights Circo Loco and We Love, and DJs Kissy Sell Out and Dave Spoon, and you’ll appreciate the impact of the club on the north and the UK at large is going to resonate like a sonic boom.

The Warehouse Project presents Beneath The Streets

Friday, January 30th, 2009

Easter Bank Holiday Weekend
09/10/11/12 April 2009
Beneath Piccadilly Train Station
Store Street
Manchester M1 2GH

Tickets: Call Ticketline on 0161 832 1111

The Warehouse Project returns for 2009 with four very special nights at Store Street over the Easter Weekend. These will be the only dates at the venue this side of the main 2009 run coming at the end of the year and as last year’s run proved will very likely sell out in advance. With only these four nights to play with we’ve gone all out to try and make each of them pretty special.

We kick off the Easter Bank Holiday run on Thursday 9th April with one for the house heads as David Guetta headlines with support from as yet to be announced special guests and WHP resident Krysko holding things together. David hits the Warehouse as his new single ‘Everytime We Touch’ fires the sonic finale from his current ‘Poplife’ album and as David himself admits, “everything I’m trying to do – in my DJing, my production – is about sharing emotion. When I’m making music in the studio that’s all I’m looking for. It’s what matters the most.” Catch the man on the 9th April @ WHP.

Friday 10th sees Goodgreef return after last year’s sold out birthday event with the undeniably huge Paul van Dyk heading a stellar cast of trance heroes and ‘Greef favourites including Godskitchen resident and Aira Force producer Jon O’Bir, Belgian DJ/producer Fred Baker, Shan, Jordan Suckley, Uberchic, Kris James and Christian Shaw. Basically, party central!

Saturday 11th sees a welcome return for Cocoon as we take their deep and minimal techno assault into the bare brick bunker for what will be another massive night out. With a bill that includes Timo Maas, Tiefschwarz, Raresh, Andre Galluzzi, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler and Greg Lord we expect this one to go nuclear!

Finally, what better way to wrap up a humungous Easter party marathon than with Erol Alkan at the helm on Sunday 12th as Store Street kicks off with an early 8pm start for more party action! Erol is no stranger to the Warehouse as last year’s ‘Erol & Friends’ event sold out over 1 month in advance and even heralded a surprise live appearance from Franz Ferdinand that was only announced the day before! This time Erol is ably joined by some of the hottest DJ/producers around as Simian Mobile Disco, Digitalism, Metro Area, Yuksek, Surkin and Andro fire up Manchester for one final hurrah before it kicks off proper this September.

Police object to lapdancing club

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

Lancashire Police have objected to a plan to reopen the Wildcats lapdancing club in Blackpool.

In February 2008 the club was ordered to close for a month by Blackpool Council after it was revealed that the club had breached the terms of its licence by allowing physical contact between customers and female performers.

The club closed again in September after its parent company went into administration.

Warehouse Project

Monday, August 4th, 2008

The Warehouse Project returns for another 14 week barnstorming run beneath Piccadilly Train station. Just as it was three years ago when they opened those gates to Boddingtons, The Warehouse Project remains a big experiment. One that continues to evolve quite naturally… Never really knowing exactly how its going to turn out, there is nothing that has gone before that does it quite like this. For sure, its going to be another crazy three months in Manchester, with over 60,000 people flocking from around the country to attend these parties.

Season 3 of The Warehouse Project sees a return to Store Street for the final time. With plans for a new hotel and apartment block next door to the site, WHP will be unable to use this space in 2009. Who knows where the next part of the story will take them… in the meantime there’s some serious partying to be had!

‘The programme for this year’s series is, we think, the best yet,” says WHP co-founder Sam Kandel. “It’s been gradually pieced together since last October. This year there will be a second more intimate room of music, which has allowed us to go even deeper with the line-ups, putting on some really underground breaking talent in addition to the huge main room action you are used to. The preparation for the annual series has become a genuine labour of love for all involved – now everything is set its time to get moving… Welcome back to The Warehouse.’

Featuring a staggering 31 parties over 14 weeks the Warehouse Project is a veritable Dante’s Inferno of twisted disco, demonic drum n bass, tribal techno, cultured minimalism, heroic hip-hop, energised electro, underground indie, bass infused dub step and of course, heart-stopping house music all night long!

The carefully programmed nights bring together the best artists from all genres under one hedonistic roof! Featuring the likes of (deep breath) Sasha, Basement Jaxx, Dizzee Rascal, De La Soul, Roots Manuva, Tricky, Sven Vath, Reverend & the Makers, Squarepusher, Locodice, Marky, Goldie, The Whip, Simian Mobile Disco, Pete Tong, Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia, Danny Howells, Magnetic Man, High Contrast. Richie Hawtin, Gilles Peterson, Erick Morillo, Annie Mac, Black Kids, Sinden, Jeff Mills, Hot Chip, Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip (Live), Justice, Ivan Smagghe, Optimo, Ar:Pi:Ar Sound System, John Digweed, Luciano, Jeru the Damaja, Wiley, Scratch Perverts, Flying Lotus, Benga, Plump DJs, James Zabeila, Erol Alkan, Hercules & Love Affair Live, Andy C, Hype, Stanton Warriors, Eric Prydz, Dusty Kid, Timo Maas, Squarepusher (Live), Boys Noize, Modeselektor, Mandy, Steve Lawler and Mancunian legends The Happy Mondays (Live) the Warehouse Project returns with an incredible final run to say ‘goodbye’ to Store Street in fine style.
