Celebrate Chinese New Year in Manchester

Manchester’s Chinese community will be celebrating the arrival of the year of the pig on Sunday 18 February in Chinatown. Festivities planned include martial arts demonstrations, dance performances, parades and more. All are welcome.

    12 - 6.30 pm. Parking is free on Sundays (so far).

Programme: 12.00 noon Martial arts and dance displays - Albert Square 12.20pm Raising of dragon from Town Hall. Dragon dance - Albert Square. 1.00pm Dragon parade from Albert Square to Chinatown via Princess Street. 1.30pm Dragon arrival and opening ceremony at main stage - Faulkner Street car park. 2pm Parade ends and the celebrations continue - Faulkner Street car park 6.30pm Firework display - Faulkner Street car park Ends
