Chester Zoo gets new recruit

Chester Zoo has announced their latest recruit, a male Sumatran tiger named Kepala. It is the first time in 21 years that the North West zoo has been home to a Sumatran tiger. Kepala, who is 2 years old and came from Dudley Zoo, will share his home with Bengal tigers Kahli and Rhani.

The zoo is hopeful it can bring in a female Sumatran to breed with Kepala. Sumatran tigers are the smallest species of tiger are a critically endangered species, with less than 400 left in the wild.
