Council approves redevelopment plans for the Valley Centre

A multi-million pound redevelopment of Rawtenstall’s Valley Centre has been given the go ahead by Rossendale Council. The derelict eyesore will be demolished and replaced with 16 shops, 6 restaurants/bars, and over 100 residential apartments. A pedestrianised square and car park will also be constructed. Completion is expected in 2010, subject to approval by the Secretary of State.
