Free car parking in Blackburn

Blackburn with Darwen Council is to introduce free short-stay car parking in a bid to revitalise town centre shopping. Council leaders hope the measure can be introduced within the next couple of weeks. Motorists currently pay 50p for 30 minutes and 90p for one hour.

    Not before time. The council needs to be creative in attracting people to town, not putting them off.

    Lets hope its not too late to restore the hustle and bustle back into the town centre.

    Unfortunately it appears not to have happened :(

    I was charged 70p to park for 10 minutes whilst I went into the bank this morning. Now thats just plain daylight robbery.
