New management running Keswick Museum

A private company has taken over the management of the Keswick Museum and Art Gallery from Allerdale Borough Council. Keswick Museum and Art Gallery Management Limited has local directors and held its first board meeting on January 23. Allerdale Borough Council will fund the running costs of the museum for the next three years and has contributed £310,000 towards its redevelopment. The change will allow the museum to bid for funds not available to local authorities.
