November 12th, 2006After losing Pleasureland, one of its major attractions, Southport’s tourist industry could be set to take another blow. Tonge International, organisers of the Southport Air Show, has announced it has gone into administration. Administrators, Parkin S Booth & Co, are searching for another event organiser to take over the running of the famous show.

The thought that Southport would lose what for years has been a fantastic weekend for the public would be a travesty, even during the teribble weather of the 2006 event everyone who attended had a great time.
It would be a great loss, please please please someone back the Airshow lets not lose it.

Wow, I live in Manchester Iowa, USA and I was from Southport, lived in the States for 5 years now and I have raved about the Southport AirShow to a lot of people, even thought i no longer live in Southport it would be such a terrible shame to see it no longer hosted there. I always had a fantastic time at the event, every year. I hope someone backs it.

We (me and her indoors) live in Stafford, Southport being our “spiritual home”. Such a lot has been done to improve Southport. Please, whoever has got the wherewithall, dont let this wonderful show dissappear. The loss of this event would leave a huge gap in the lives of those who treasure one of this countries greatest assett and our ability to show the rest of the world how its done.
