17th Century ORTON HALL

Standing in 7 acres of grounds, Orton Hall is a 17th century Grade II listed Jacobean mansion offering unique self-catering accommodation.

3 self-catering apartments are available. The Duke of Clarendon Suite and the Royalist Suite sleep 2 while the Rochester Wing can accommodate 4. Each apartment is self-contained and boasts a fully-equipped kitchen.

Guests enjoy use of the Great Hall, with its oak-panelling, snooker table, piano, and log fire.

Orton Hall is situated in the village of Orton, approximately 15 miles drive south of Penrith.

We stayed here in a fantastic self catering apartment in an absolutely beautiful part of the country. It's not like staying in a hotel, it's more of a home away from home. We would certainly recommend it to anyone who wanted to try something different.

We would definitely recommend this place if you like peace and quiet and the option of cooking for yourself. There is tons of space and the place is full of character. You do need a car, but I guess that wouldn't be a problem for most people. Certainly made a nice change from the run of the mill hotels.
