Orton
This attractive village lies at the foot of Orton Scar. It was granted its market charter in the 13th century by Edward I and still holds a popular farmers market every month.
Orton Hall, a Grade II listed building, dates back to the 17th century and now offers self-catering accommodation. The parish is also home to the Westmorland Hotel and Tebay Services on the M6.
Places of interest include Gamelands Stone Circle and All Saints Church. The village lies on Alfred Wainwright’s famous Coast to Coast Walk.
