Restaurants in and around Penrith

The villages of Eden are home to numerous restaurants, dining pubs, cafes and tea rooms. Given that farming dominates the economy here, it is not surprising that locally produced and organic foods feature heavily on menus. Penrith town centre also offers a reasonable selection of restaurants.

The area is also home to the Tebay (or Westmorland) Services, the only independently operated motorway service area in England. Operated by the company behind Rheged, they have a rustic atmosphere, serve locally produced food, and are a popular stopping point for those visiting the Lake District, Carlisle, and Scotland.
