Westmorland Hotel

Situated close to the village of Orton, roughly halfway between Penrith and Kendal, the Westmorland Hotels offers 51 rooms. This was a nice place to stay and quite reasonably priced compared to some of the Lake District hotels. There was no noise from the motorway nearby and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was also excellent, especially the breakfast. I would recommend the place personally.

We stayed here on the way up to Scotland and were not disappointed. The location was ideal, being just off the motorway, and the room was clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. Not too keen on the carpet in the public areas, but everything else was up to standard.
