I had a nice day out to the Hoghton Tower today. There was a 17th century re-enactment. The tea room was busy, and the food was superb and really cheap. The steak pie was delicious and well presented with seasonal vegetables. The table clearing was very poor and staff minimal This was my only complaint. I sat with the last person's mess for 1 hour. The food made up for this though.

Every April Hoghton Tower holds a motorcycle sprint. Bikes of all ages and classes race up the drive. There's lots of entertainment and a BBQ etc. Good fun if you like bikes.

The grounds here are very nice too.
